ABOUT US
The Brushfire Literature & Arts Journal is a student-run organization at the University of Nevada, Reno. Brushfire publishes biannually. All the art that is reviewed and published by Brushfire is submitted through our website. The Brushfire journal exists because of our contributors. Without them, there would be no content, no fuel to set each new Brushfire into print.
With each iteration of the Brushfire, we strive to represent the diversity, originality and dedication of our artistic community. As an ASUN organization, we also strive to be the creative outlet for our student body at UNR. Our main priority is to connect with the various art communities at UNR and throughout Reno. However, anyone can submit to Brushfire. We receive and publish art from across the country. So, while Brushfire in centered around locality, we seek inclusivity and do not reject art based on the artists’ location.
Brushfire hosts art-oriented events and workshops (e.g. open mics, poetry/writing workshops, guest speakers) throughout the semester. If you are interested in working, volunteering, or getting published in Brushfire — or if you want to help produce the semesterly publication – please contact us!
